I thought that I would show you guys what I wore on my face yesterday when I celebrated Christmas Eve with my family. I went for a light brown smokey eye and a simple face.
Base: I have the whole month of December kept my base makeup very light. And that means that I only have been using a concealer and a powder with some coverage in it. For the concealer part, I have been using my MAC Studio Finish concealer. This concealer just covers everything that you want to cover. I use this on blemishes and it covers them perfectly. For the powered with the coverage, I used the MAC Studio Fix powder. This powder just covers the little things and sets the concealer in place all night and day.
For blush, I went with a light pink blush. This one is from the MAC Holliday collection. The color is in Modest Blush.
For a bit of bronze, I used the Urban Decay Naked Flushed palette. I love the bronzer in this palette. It is not too dark but nor to light neither.
And the final product is the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Lightscapade. This highlighter has a neutral finish on the skin so I love using this for a bit of a neutral shine on the face.
Eyes: I fist started by using a primer. The primer that I used is from Urban Decay. This primer makes my eyeshadow stay on all day long. This is my go to primer when it comes to eye primer.
For eyeshadows, I used four MAC eyeshadows and one L'Oréal eyeshadow. I really wanted a light brown smokey eye.
I took Vanilla all over my lid. Vanilla is a light creamy white color that is great as a base eyeshadow. To defining my crease I used Omega. Omega is a light brown color that works perfectly for defining the crease. To give the eye look that light brown smokey effect I used Woodwinked and the L'Oréal eyeshadow in Over the Taupe. These two colors just gave the eye look that light brown smokey. For highlighting my inner corner and brow bone I used the MAC Nylon. The color is a yellowy white color.
I used two eyeliners. I used the Rimmel Scandaleyes in Nude on the waterline. Just to wake up the eye a bit. Then I used the MAC Eye Kohl in Teddy as an eyeliner as a lash liner. This eyeliner is great with Sable.
For brows, I used the Soap & Glory Archery. This is the drugstore version of the Anastasia Brow Wiz. It really likes that the product is so precisely as it is. It makes the whole brow thing a lot easier.
I used two mascaras. This combination is one of my favorite ones. I first apply the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara to give my lashes length and then I apply the Lancome Hypnôse Star Mascara to give my lashes some volume.
Lips: For lips, I wanted to keep it on the pinky side. So I went with the YSL Rouge Volupté in color nr 17. The color of this lipstick is a medium rosy color. What I like about this product is when the lipstick has worn off during the night it leaves a stain on the lips.
I hope that you all are having a great Christmas Day! Marry Christmas!!
Love, Caroline Mathilde
